What is HGV Max?
HGV Max is a new membership program designed to help Hilton timeshare owners (as well as Bluegreen Vacations and Diamond Resorts owners) get the most out of their ownership. Membership in HGV Max comes with many benefits and perks, such as greater flexibility in planning and booking vacations, enhanced customer service, access to exclusive discounts and events, opportunities to earn Hilton Honors points, and more.
Hilton Grand Vacations is Growing!
Did you know Hilton Grand Vacations now owns both Diamond Resorts and Bluegreen Vacations? With these acquisitions, Hilton Grand Vacations (formerly Hilton Grand Vacations Club) expanded its portfolio to over 200 resorts worldwide.
Although Bluegreen and Diamond are now under Hilton’s umbrella, Bluegreen and Diamond members cannot automatically access Hilton resorts. Hilton Grand Vacations owners automatically gain access to HGV Max, and in turn, Bluegreen and Diamond resorts, but only if they buy their timeshare directly from Hilton.
However, another fantastic benefit of HGV Max is the ability to use your points across the entire expanded Hilton portfolio, regardless of which brand you own with or where you bought your timeshare.
HGV Max Member Benefits
Hilton Grand Vacations Max is offered in six membership tiers: Member, Preferred, Preferred+, Premier, Premier+, as well as Centum+. As an HGV Max member, your tier status is determined by how many points you own, while your benefits depend on which tier your membership falls under. Here’s a tier-by-tier breakdown of the HGV Max member benefits:

How Do You Become a Member?
There are a couple of ways to access HGV Max benefits. The first, of course, is to buy a Hilton Grand Vacations timeshare. In short, Hilton owners who buy their timeshare interest from an authorized dealer are automatically enrolled in the HGV Max program.
If you purchased your Hilton timeshare before HGV Max was created, own or are planning to purchase a Bluegreen or Diamond timeshare, you will not automatically gain access to HGV Max. However, owners and prospective owners who fall into these categories may upgrade to HGV Max for an initiation fee.
Only owners who buy their timeshare directly from Hilton, Bluegreen, or Diamond can join HGV Max. Unfortunately, owners who buy their timeshares on the secondary market are not eligible at this time.
However, you can use the resale market to add points to your current ownership. In fact, supplementing your ownership with resale-market points is a great way to increase your vacation flexibility without breaking the bank. Keep in mind, however, that resale points do not count towards HGV Max membership tiers.
How Much Does HGV Max Cost?
The initiation fee for upgrading to HGV Max is currently $7,000. This is a one-time fee. However, HGV Max club dues, are $299 and must be paid annually. These club dues cover the costs associated with accessing multiple resorts and are paid in addition to your annual maintenance fees.
Is HGV Max Worth the Price?
For many happy members, HGV Max’s incredible perks and benefits are certainly worth the price. However, whether or not the program is worth it for you depends on your needs. If you love the resorts you currently have access to and are content with your benefits, then there may be no need to upgrade. However, if you’re looking to expand your travel options and want to enjoy exclusive perks, HGV Max might be a good fit!
Alternatives to HGV Max
If you want access to more resorts but don’t want to pay the HGV Max rate, there are alternatives. Hilton Grand Vacations, Bluegreen Vacations, and Diamond Resorts are all affiliated with RCI, the world’s largest vacation exchange platform. Therefore, you can access most, if not all, of the resorts available to HGV Max members through RCI. While still costly, you may find RCI better suited to your budget and other needs.
