Celebrities are known for owning a lot of lavish things, such as fast, fancy cars, oceanfront mansions, and other extravagant real-estate property. But interestingly enough, some also happen to even own timeshares! Even though celebrities could afford multiple vacation homes, they still understand the concept of a good bargain and believe in getting more bang for your buck!Seth Green, known for his popular TV show Robot Chicken and voicing Brian Griffin on Fox’s hit television sitcom Family Guy, posted a photo on Instagram with his girlfriend announcing their new state-of-the-art timeshare. The two stayed in an adorable, modern cottage in the United Kingdom for the holidays in 2012.
But Seth Green isn’t the only one who has dabbled in the world of timeshares. Alan Thicke (father of famous pop star Robin Thicke), and also known best as the loveable Dr. Jason Seaver on Growing Pains, appeared regularly in commercials for Consolidated Resorts, a company owned by Goldman Sachs, that sold timeshares at Tahiti Village in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, the company went through bankruptcy proceedings in 2009, when subsequently the commercials stopped. They typically featured the former 80’s star relaxing on a pool raft with a cocktail in his hand, talking about the benefits of timeshare ownership.
Interestingly enough, before Jennifer Aniston became the infamous Rachel Green on the ever so popular sitcom Friends, she worked as a telemarketer for a timeshare company while simultaneously auditioning for Hollywood gigs. Admittedly, Aniston wasn’t good at the job and was even quoted to say, “I was awful, selling timeshares in the Poconos and upsetting people terribly and me just being the worst at it, because I just apologized profusely and hung up the phone.”
Good thing she eventually landed great movie roles and left the timeshare-selling to the professionals. We couldn’t imagine a world without “The Rachel” in it!
