What's Going on at Grand Floridian?

Disney's always doing something new, and now, the Grand Floridian Resort is getting some renovations around its lobby. Here's what that means for your Disney stay.

When Are the Rennovations?

Work is scheduled from April to November 2025. So, during this time, expect partial lobby closures. Fortunately, most amenities (including the pools) will be unaffected.

About the New Lobby

The lobby is set to keep its original charm with some more modern touches.  There will be a new carpet, updated furnishings, and more!

These touches will be combined with an update to the tea room, and both are set to stay familiar while still feeling fresh. Plus, the updates are more than a coat of paint.

The Lobby Bar

After the refresh, the lobby will feature a new bar! Inspired by the iconic birdcage, this bar will boast colorful birds in stained glass and murals. So, what does this mean for visitors?

Effects on Visitors

As we mentioned earlier, most amenities will stay open. However, the beloved Gingerbread House seen every year during the holidays will not be present this year.
