I challenge you to find a place in Hawaii where you can vacation for a whole week in a 2-bedroom unit in a nice resort with an ocean view (if you book early) for less than $1200. This is a great ownership to use/rent. Own this unit at Pono Kai - My favorite resort on Kauai. Go to YouTube for a virtual tour. No in-unit washer and dryer but lots of other perks. There are coin-op washers and dryers in each building. This timeshare is in the Pacific Fantasy section of the Pono Kai resort system with lower maintenance fees( $1120.74 for 2024). This year's maintenance fee has been paid, so the interval/week is yours with the purchase. You can book any week (so long as there is availability, the earlier the better). Bonus time at 90 days out. Week may be rolled over to take a 2-week vacation every other year. The week may be exchanged within the resort management (Pohaku resort management) system for various resorts in California without paying an exchange fee on availability. Pool, tennis, hot tub, BBQs, concierge, etc. I would not be selling this timeshare if I didn't have too many. Feel free to ask any questions. Buyer is to pay $1200 plus transfer fees of $150 (whatever a closing company charges, if you prefer we use one). I rent this timeshare out whenever I don't use it without any problem. A/C unit in the living/dining room. The maintenance fees are due December 15. Thanks for looking, have a nice day and stay safe. Don't hesitate to ask any questions.

More information on our formula...
Hotels usually sleep 2 adults per room, whereas the average timeshare units offer multiple private bedrooms, sleeper sofas and sometimes even bunk beds - adding value not calculated here. Timeshare properties are condo style units that contain all of the comforts of home... and then some!
Hotel total cost includes a 10% hotel tax whereas the average U.S. hotel tax is currently around 13.4%.
Timeshare total cost includes an increase in maintenance dues each year of 3%, as well as an estimated $1,000 in closing and transfer costs. These are estimated and will vary by state, county and resort.
Total savings does not take into consideration the added benefit of a timeshare unit having a spacious living room, washer and dryer, dining room and full kitchen, all of which add value and potential savings when you have the option to do your own laundry and enjoy a home cooked meal instead of dining out.
