Per the owner: Our parents originally purchased the timeshare and deeded it over to us years later. One huge benefit in owning the timeshare is the options it opened up for traveling to nearly unlimited places. First, we had a great week, Labor day week at our home timeshare property (Destin). If we wanted to ‘bank’ that we could. In banking our week we additionally joined “interval International worldwide travel’, with our banked week(s) we could trade our week for a week at a different timeshare. We went to Colonial Williamsburg, To South Carolina Tampa, Florida and many other places. (one point of emphasis here is we own a Studio but in trading you can trade up for larger rooms/Suites if you require.) Additionally, we had option if we did not want to use the labor day week, we could place it as available to rent out that week and gain monies to pay on the yearly dues/fees.
We had enjoyed for many years but now we are not traveling as much and no longer can fully use the timeshare, for that reason we opt to sell. Anyone wanting similar options as detailed above could enjoy this opportunity for many years to come.

More information on our formula...
Hotels usually sleep 2 adults per room, whereas the average timeshare units offer multiple private bedrooms, sleeper sofas and sometimes even bunk beds - adding value not calculated here. Timeshare properties are condo style units that contain all of the comforts of home... and then some!
Hotel total cost includes a 10% hotel tax whereas the average U.S. hotel tax is currently around 13.4%.
Timeshare total cost includes an increase in maintenance dues each year of 3%, as well as an estimated $1,000 in closing and transfer costs. These are estimated and will vary by state, county and resort.
Total savings does not take into consideration the added benefit of a timeshare unit having a spacious living room, washer and dryer, dining room and full kitchen, all of which add value and potential savings when you have the option to do your own laundry and enjoy a home cooked meal instead of dining out.
