One of the things that drew us to the unit week 15 was The French
Quarter Festival on the first weekend. That is always a great draw for
hundreds of thousands of people and street performers, and artists,
bands in several locations within easy walking distance. With The
Quarter House in the French Quarter, makes it easy to get to any of
these events and venues. The main HQ at the Festival is in Jackson
Square (which I'm sure it's been renamed) they always have tents set
up with a variety of Cajun Cooking. I always like the Jambalaya,
cooked in a big vat stirred with an aluminum Oar. I always wait till
there's no one in line and they're working up a new batch before I go
over and visit with them till the brew is done! Grab a couple of bowls
for me & the wife and YUMMY IS GOOD FOR THE TUMMY!
With Oodles of places to eat the French Cuisine and we've even visited
a few places that teach you how to make several dishes, watched them
make it and then get to sample the finished product along with a few
of the local brew ABITA AMBER BEER! Even more yummy! Definitely find
the "Central Gro, Co." Home of The Famous "Italian Muffuletta!" If you
can eat just one in one setting...OMG! Worth the price of admission!
Aquarium Of The America's is just a few blocks up from the Quarter
House, great place to visit, especially with kids. Of course we're
just big kids and get free admittance from the Quarter House. Ghost
tours, Evening dinner cruise on the Ocean, and many other places to
visit in and around NAWLINS! Never a dull moment, especially when you
go out the front door of The Quarter House, turn left at the first
street and 2 blocks later you're on BOURBON STREET! The myriad of
places to visit, listen some bands, and places to drink and eat some
of the best Cajun Food around! WOW...What's not to like!
We took a swamp boat tour once and got to get close enough to reach
over the side of the boat and scratch a mother gator's back while she
was giving birth? It was fun but we kept our hands to ourselves! We
took an Airboat Tour thru the everglades, they picked us up right at
the Quarter House. Learned a lot about the swamps, turtles, gators,
snakes, cypress trees...what fun and educational! Just hold onto your
hat!
The Quarter House has some entertainment too, wine and cheese tasting.
Plus take you into a local establishment for some liquid refreshment!
They cater to your every need, just ask! 3 blocks up for a little
Casino Action, and plenty of places to visit & buy souvenirs! Never a
dull moment, always something exciting going on, you don't have to
look far!

More information on our formula...
Hotels usually sleep 2 adults per room, whereas the average timeshare units offer multiple private bedrooms, sleeper sofas and sometimes even bunk beds - adding value not calculated here. Timeshare properties are condo style units that contain all of the comforts of home... and then some!
Hotel total cost includes a 10% hotel tax whereas the average U.S. hotel tax is currently around 13.4%.
Timeshare total cost includes an increase in maintenance dues each year of 3%, as well as an estimated $1,000 in closing and transfer costs. These are estimated and will vary by state, county and resort.
Total savings does not take into consideration the added benefit of a timeshare unit having a spacious living room, washer and dryer, dining room and full kitchen, all of which add value and potential savings when you have the option to do your own laundry and enjoy a home cooked meal instead of dining out.
